About the client:
The Portuguese Cooperation Cluster on Mozambique Island is a project funded by the Institute for Cooperation and Language, Camões I.P, which began in 2011, and aims to support the Government of the Republic of Mozambique in the integrated development of the island and the adjacent mainland region, through intervention actions in various areas.
Already in its 3rd phase of intervention, this cluster aims to improve recognition of the territory, the culture of the island and its customs among the population and the general public, boosting the development and promotion of tourism on Mozambique Island.
About the project
The new site now has a renewed look, with a simple, intuitive, dynamic and modern presentation, with images worked in order to communicate the best identity of the institution, with areas of great visual emphasis for informative areas and tourism.
It thus reinforces one of the main channels of communication with the citizen and future visitors, with new potentialities and where it is possible to consult in a faster, more intuitive and always updated way all the information regarding the city of Mozambique Island, from its History, Municipal Bodies, indicators linked to tourism, entities involved in this project and news.
Thanks to the new platform, and with the objective of strengthening the approximation between the local entities and the user public, the dynamization of the news content is now also the responsibility of these same entities that have the possibility to publish content on the Island's website in an autonomous way. For future visitors, there is also the new functionality of advance reservations in the accommodations available on the platform through a reservation form with no additional payment or cancellation costs.
In a statement, the Mozambique Island City Council said, "The Mozambique Island Municipality hereby expresses gratitude for JAVALI's tireless dedication, their commitment is the main ingredient that makes our team achieve success."
As common features to all JAVALI projects, the best search engine optimization practices (SEO), accessibility for people with visual difficulties and a design that adapts (responsive) to different devices (desktop, tablet and smartphones) were ensured.

Why Drupal was chosen
The new platform was developed using the latest version of Drupal (D10) because, in addition to meeting all future needs presented by the client in the requirements gathering phase, it was already the software used in previous platforms developed and with which their managers were already familiar and satisfied with the performance.
With this upgrade, in addition to a newer version of the software, they also benefited from a higher degree of security and stability.
