About the project
Theunionflats.com is fully developed by us. It has various sections where each section has different features describing all the facilities Union Flats is offering.
The entire site is developed using dynamic layout with some complex UI, is fully customizable and all the content is dynamic which is handled at the backend.
We used animation on some of the pages. Animation only applies when content is appearing in view port and for this we used custom jquery. At the same time for filtering animation, jquery third party API named “isotope” is used.
On Gallery page drupal module views have been used for listing and the page has been configured so as to show image as well as video on same listing. For Video we used colorbox to show on popup.
Maps are done using Google map API module where all the data and mpa pins are dynamic and can be handled by front end user for updating in future. For place search we used Google map’s "textSearch” function.
Why Drupal was chosen
With Drupal it was easy & fast for the team to create new services as well as customize existing services. We could use Drupal’s existing features and customize the code where necessary.
Drupal was also chosen mainly because of the modular architecture which fulfilled the flexibility the client required. The scalable, extensible environment of Drupal and out-of-the-box features became the main pillar of the project and convinced them to use Drupal as their platform of choice for their content repository application.

Google Analytics: As this module adds the Google Analytics web statistics tracking system to your website, we used this for SEO purpose.
Video: We needed locally hosted videos and this module provides a reliable API for converting videos and create thumbnails, embed video to node body using WYSIWYG module (D7 only) and many more.
XML Sitemap: This module helps search engines to more intelligently crawl a website and keep their results up to date. Hence we used this for SEO.
Metatag: This module was also used for SEO purpose as meta tags usually refers to the meta description tag and the meta keywords tag that may help improve the rankings and display of a site in search engine results.
Fancybox: The Fancybox module is the best way to incorporate the fancyBox jQuery plugin into Drupal. Display images, HTML, YouTube videos, Google maps in an elegant and aesthetic lightbox alternative. Hence, this was mainly used for images.
