The XML sitemap module creates a sitemap that conforms to the sitemaps.org specification. This helps search engines to more intelligently crawl a website and keep their results up to date. The sitemap created by the module can be automatically submitted to Ask, Google, Bing (formerly Windows Live Search), and Yahoo! search engines. The module also comes with several submodules that can add sitemap links for content, menu items, taxonomy terms, and user profiles.

Supported branches:

  • 2.x branch of the XML Sitemap supports Drupal 10.3 and 11. It is based on 8.x-1.x branch with some notable changes:
    • Support for Drupal 9 up to Drupal 10.2 was dropped.
    • It removes functions deprecated in 8.x-1.x four years ago. The functions were likely unused, but developers who have extended XML Sitemap should review [#3156088] for confirmation.
  • 8.x-1.x branch supports Drupal 9 and 10. Drupal 11 support will not be added.
  • 7.x-2.x branch supports Drupal 7. No new features will be added. Drupal 7 will reach end of support on January 5th, 2025. After January 5th and until such time as Drupal.org (D.O.) processes mark the branch as unsupported, there will be no further development except for critical bugs (or similar). After the D.O. update the 7.x-2.x series will be fully unsupported.
