An aging website, no longer up-to-date technology: that’s what was wrong with the TEGOVA website. Our team helped the organization to improve the functionality, the aesthetics and user-friendliness of the site, bringing it new capabilities and opening-up new possibilities.
About the project
TEGOVA is the European organization of national valuers’ associations setting European standards for valuation practice, education and qualifications, as well as for corporate governance and ethics for valuers in real estate valuation, business valuation, and plant, machinery and equipment valuation. TEGOVA brings together 70 national valuers’ associations from 38 countries, who together represent 70.000 qualified valuers. TEGOVA is an important EU player. Its European Valuation Standards are given precedence over all others by the European Central Bank.
We started our project at TEGOVA in September 2020. The TEGOVA website was no longer technologically up-to-date at that point, and was in need of a fresh start. We took care of both the backend application and the public website and built them both based on Drupal, carefully planning the work in conjunction with the client, including clearly milestoning and scheduling the project, and interacting regularly with the client during the development. The result was delivered on time, in September 2021, and was a user-friendly and easily adjustable website.

We’ve really future-proofed the website. Not just the functionalities, but also the features, flexibility and the technical build. The website can handle large numbers of visitors from all countries who can, if necessary, log in at the same time and work on the extranet. TEGOVA is truly ready for the future now.
Why Drupal was chosen
Since TEGOVA needed a frontend (for the public website) as well as a backend (for the back office system and the members of the intranet), we decided to integrate Drupal headless. The public website was built in GatsbyJS, a Jamstack framework that pulls content from the Drupal backend through an API and generates a static website.
In the Drupal backend, members as well as TEGOVA’s Secretariat can log in to exchange documents, organize their invoicing and manage ‘recognised’ valuers. What’s more, this backend system has a PDF document generator that can generate valuers’ certificates through a headless Chrome browser and Puppeteer.
Thanks to this headless approach, our team only had to create 1 Drupal application, in which different tasks are still neatly separated.
