The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) is a democratic, affiliate-led federation recognised as the world’s leading transport authority. They fight passionately to improve working lives and are the voice for nearly 20 million working men and women across the world.
About the project
Improved content organization
Since ITF publishes a great amount of content every day (news and original content), they wanted to be able to easily organize and control what is being published. Thanks to Drupal content structure organization, the authors from ITF are able to easily create different types of content. In addition to this, since Drupal is able to handle multiple users with different roles and permission sets, ITF authors and editors improved the effectiveness of proofreading, editing and publishing.
Multi-language website
ITF is a global organization, working with transport workers from around the world and having a multi-language website was a mandatory requirement. In order to fulfil this goal, thanks to Drupal multilingual modules, the Eton Digital team developed a fully translatable website which could reach users speaking English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and Japanese language.
Interactive user-friendly website
ITF provides not only general assistance to transport workers, but also research and information services to its affiliates. To allow each and every user to find desired information quickly and efficiently, the Eton Digital team developed a straightforward user’s journey. Users can browse different types of content and search for topics of interest using filters. Every piece of content is sorted according to continents, language, specific industry sector, keyword tags, and breaking news.
In addition to this, the custom filters were implemented to allow users to decide how desired information will be displayed.
Customized campaign layouts
Since ITF aims to promote respect for trade unions and human rights worldwide, they wanted to launch different campaigns which will support these efforts more efficiently. Thanks to customized campaign layouts, ITF is able to create a campaign that will raise awareness, motivate visitors to get involved and to get informed about the campaign.
Customized newsletters
Keeping its users informed about the latest news and events was crucial for ITF. Therefore, the Eton Digital team built a customizable newsletter functionality where users can set different preferences and choose alerts for language, sector, and topics they are interested in. Users can also choose to receive a customized list of news as an alert on a daily basis or a weekly digest.
