The Craft Guild of Chef is an online magazine, designed to provide fast access to the latest news from the culinary and food industry, all in one place. Users can discover hot news, attractive events, available culinary courses and information from the cooking spheres.
The magazine has a goal to ensure relevant information and education for all involved and interested in the culinary industry. Moreover, it offers support and possibilities for young chefs to enhance their career prospects.
About the project
We designed and developed an attractive and highly customized online magazine to answer the challenges of its users. We took into account the wishes and needs of the direct and indirect target audience and created a solution that provides quick, fast and easy access to the content they are searching for.
Improved content organization
The Craft Guild of Chefs wanted to enable easy distribution of relevant news and engage and actively involve their users. So, we used the Views module to sort articles and other content pieces, ensuring all relevant content is easily accessible and available for the website visitors who can enjoy a smooth and quick user flow.
Customized event calendar
One of the website’s requirements was to ensure transparency and equal opportunities for chefs related to career and personal branding. In addition to their needs, we built a single page that offers credible lists of all important and relevant events for chefs.
For the promotion of a particular culinary event, we designed and developed an interactive calendar with suitable users-driven filtering options and features. We used the Fullcalendar View module to provide a calendar view format and enable desired features.
User-friendly filtering options
Users are able to discover everything about culinary award winners, culinary courses, and other career-related news from the industry. They can easily discover upcoming events, browse open vacancies and career opportunities.
With the help of the Better Exposed Filters module, we enabled helpful filtering options that allow searching for an event based on the category of the event, month and day.
Unique sign up forms
Craft Guild of Chefs is an organization dedicated to empowering the culinary community and industry. Their members are the driving force behind the initiative and those who shape and change the industry. The organization with a focus on providing important and timely information and news would want to keep their members and users informed at all times. Therefore, one of our tasks was to provide an easy, fast and uncomplicated process for interested users to join.
To do so we have integrated Sign-up forms that enable every chef interested in joining the association to easily fill the form and sign up.
Customized newsletter
To help inspire active involvement, we built a customized newsletter with the help of the Simplenewsletter module. This module publishes and sends newsletters to lists of specific subscribers. Admins can easily create a monthly or daily newsletter and provide users with a customized list of news directly to their inbox.
Why Drupal was chosen
With the help of Drupal CMS, our goal was to enable effective management of different types of content empowering the platform to support a great amount of traffic. We created a modern magazine that promotes and shares important information about specific industries, and thus, made special attention to provide intuitiveness to both admins and visitors.
With an efficient content organization enabled by Drupal, the website offers a modern interface, and straightforward and attractive design, where the presentation of information is clear and legible for reading, browsing and engaging.
