EdBoost Learning Center is a nonprofit center that specializes in providing one-on-one educational services such as one-on-one tutoring, test prep (ISEE, HSPT, SAT, ACT, AP and others), and college advising. They also provide an afterschool homework assistance program with a low (5:1) student-to-tutor ratio.
EdBoost’s mission is to reduce educational inequality by making high-quality, individualized academic help accessible to all children. Through generous need-based scholarships, EdBoost strives to make top-of-the line one-on-one tutoring, small group homework assistance, test preparation, and college counseling affordable for all students.
About the project
Goals
EdBoost want to upgrade their website to the latest version to keep them secure from the new threats, provide them more flexibility to manage the data, improve the performance of the site and make the content management easy to use.
Challenges/Requirements:
As per the client’s requirement, we need to upgrade the site to the latest Drupal 9 version and without any loss of Data. As the site is on Drupal 7 version whose architecture is totally different from the Drupal 9 and support for the modules is also limited in the Drupal 7 than Drupal 9. So to keep all the data without any functionality loss is the challenge.
Solution Delivered:
We have analyzed the deprecated the website and its modules with the data which will need to manually transfer to the site and planned the things accordingly. After that we have migrated the Drupal 7 site to the Drupal 9 version and worked on the deprecated and missing data.

Edboost choose Drupal because of the performance and the flexibility to manage the content. There were some other crucial points which they considered to be on the Drupal upgrade to the latest version:
- As it is an open-source framework, it is free of any authorization fees which is best for the non-profit organization.
- Drupal Core architecture, ensure the security of the data which become really crucial in case of payments.
- As it is the educational site and involve learning and quizzes for the students and is on high traffic, so it requires high performance to manage the traffic on the website.
