About the project
The project is about synths. You can find a lot of types and brands of synths and read their technical specifications. Additional functions include rating option and articles about latest synth news.
The main objectives were to:
- migrate all existing website data and all old content to new Drupal site;
- restructure the content;
- implement tools for content managing;
- implement a responsive theme (design remained intact, vintage style).
In the outcome:
- migration from clear PHP site to the latest Drupal version site using custom modules;
- subtheme which is based on Bootstrap was created. SASS was embedded to this theme;
- new responsive layouts using Bootstrap were implemented.
The biggest advantage of this migration is that a client had a chance to re-architect the site and make it more streamlined.
Why Drupal was chosen
Migrating from PHP to the latest Drupal version was a smart move, as it significantly improved efficiency and gave a competitive advantage in achieving business goals. Since the site has a massive amount of content, Drupal was chosen for being perfectly suited in situations where quick search and high performance are required. Also, Drupal gave the ability to edit and manage content on the site, thus the ultimate freedom and flexibility.
Drupal 10 shines as a robust platform with many enhancements that make it more user-friendly, responsive and flexible.

We wanted to reduce the pain of managing a complex data migration, that’s why these tools were used. They accurately targeted objectives, and helped to avoid numerous problems due to the high volume of data to be migrated. We used some of the best practices in order to achieve ultimate aims and unlock an infinite number of new possibilities.
