Community contributions
Upanup developed custom Cyberimpact module for Drupal 8. Users can send configured nodes to subscribers in Cyberimpact with node content.
The Town of Okotoks is located in Alberta just south of Calgary, and is always looking for ways to provide as much value as possible to its residents, local businesses and visitors. The Town’s website was a reliable resource that required some updates to make it eye-catching, easy to navigate and UX-focused.
About the project
We used the migration to Drupal 8 as an opportunity to add a refreshed design and a revised, streamlined and user-centric site architecture to the site. This allowed the new site to reach the needs of the community and provide a superior user experience. We migrated a large amount of content into their new user-friendly sitemap. There was a large focus placed on improving the user’s experience so we used a variety of site design elements and tools that would improve the site’s accessibility. Their new site included an emergency alert feature, third party integrations, conditional webforms and responsive tables. Drupal 8’s extensive functionality combined with the staff training we provided resulted in streamlined processes and internal efficiencies for the Town of Okotoks.
Why Drupal was chosen
The Town of Okotoks’ (Alberta, Canada) website was on Drupal 7 and they were looking to migrate to Drupal 8. They chose to continue to use Drupal because they were familiar with the system and the Town wanted a reliable open-source system that would provide them with the flexibility to add new features and functionality as the needs of their citizens, businesses and visitors changed.
