“Destilatori” (Brandy boilers) is the company in the distillery business.
It is the factory for producing brandy boilers and all the equipment for making fruit brandies. It is one of the most recognizable brand in the middle and east Europe.
They are producing a variety of boilers, sizes, and shapes, exclusive boilers, and custom made one.
It is the company that brings all the new technologies combining it with tradition.
About the project
The project goal was to set up an online store which will give the customers enough information and a good overview of a product and potentially led them into the buying funnel.
This site is not for the broad audience. Customers are specific and products are pricey (there are boilers costing more than 3k EUR).
The goal was to relax and comfort potential buyers that they can safely buy equipment with no risk of buying online.

Process and Insights
Nature related design but without to much distraction
Nature related design but without too much distraction.
Fire, wood, and copper are materials related to this industry. We wanted customers to feel like they started the process of making brandy already when they visit the page.
With this no intrusive elements and style, we achieved nature looking design but not sacrificing speed and accessibility.
Easy navigation and good prioritization
On the front page, customers can navigate through popular boilers. After that, they can choose between 5 main categories or shop for equipment.
When visitors are not on the main page, there is a navigation in the main menu for products.
Product categories have subcategories and equipment is visually different from the rest of the products.
Using tutorials for adding more value to the products
There is a section on the site which we are using to add more values to the products. This tutorial will help newcomers to overcome the “struggle” of starting something new.
New customers, but also other visitors will learn something new and will upgrade they skills with this material.
Sale prices countdown system (scarcity marketing technique)
One of the requests from the marketing team was to enable them countdown for sale price. With this “scarcity” technique we can produce a feeling of urgency in the customer's mind so they must decide immediately.
The sale price has an expiration date, how much they are saving, and a countdown timer with days | hours | seconds. This technique is very useful on the beginning of the season when the good timing is everything.
Facebook Pixel and Catalog integration for marketing purpose
If you are having an online store, having Facebook tools for marketing are a must. We are using them for remarketing purpose, for classic post ads and for collecting information about our ideal customers.
Having an e-commerce site combined with Facebook Pixel is the win-win situation both for stakeholders and for the marketing team.
Shipping module
We developed our custom shipping module for many different scenarios. On this site we are using 3:
- Free shipping for main products
- Fixed shipping prices for small equipment
- Weight-based shipping for heavy equipment
Custom boiler builder
Forms are great for this kind of job. Basically, customers can build they own boiler from different components and materials.
Some conditions must be met and based on the previous answers we are showing another set of question.
After assembling is done, sales representatives getting an email with all the customer's data. With this function, we saved a lot of time and money because the data are accurate.
Outcome
People who are uncomfortable to make a call now can order online without stress.
The company made a good profit from this new internet exposure. Because of good marketing, they must build another factory.
Reduction of phone calls was significant because the site is full of good product information, images, and videos.
Why Drupal was chosen
The client wanted to have two websites. One that is purely promotional and with a lot of information and second with e-commerce functionalities. We develop that presentational site two years ago.
A logical step for us as Drupal agency was to make a simple exporter for those products and import them into the new Drupal 8 Commerce distribution.
This was our 3rd Drupal 8 Commerce site and it was very exceeding to learn all the new logic behind complete rewrite.
Surely there were challenges but we love them, it’s our brain food.
