The Banco de la República is the Colombian Central Bank, an entity that, in 2023, will be one hundred years old since its foundation. It is the institution -independent of the Government- in charge of issuing, managing and controlling the monetary movements of the country, as well as issuing the currency of legal tender: the peso.
In addition to its macroeconomic functions, it has overseen the leadership of multiple cultural functions, overseeing the management of a wide and prestigious network of public libraries and museums.
As part of its digital development, the Bank needed a business partner to help it set up its portal strategy, evolutionary development, support, and infrastructure.
Thus, since 2012 we have worked hand in hand with the Bank in multiple implementations and development.
About the project
Development team outsourcing
Through our company Dayscript, Link has led the development of different versions of Banco de la República's portals, using agile methodologies. We have a dedicated team for this entity, in the areas of creativity, user experience, graphic design, back development, as well as Drupal development, front end development, testing, documentation and infrastructure.

Institutional Portal
This Portal is one of the most consulted websites by economic entities and experts, not only in Colombia, but also in the region. In addition to the information of this organization, one of the main developments has been in offering news content, research, and the country’s macroeconomic statistics.
In this sense, it has official information on prices, inflation, interest rates, international reserves, exchange rates and public debt, among others.
Cultural Portal
The famous "Banrep Cultural" is one of the most consulted portals for researchers and art lovers. This is obvious since the Banco de la República has a presence in about thirty cities around the country through its network of museums (including the prestigious Gold Museum), Public Libraries and Concert Halls.
The development carried out by Link allows visitors to come closer, showing the cultural offer: special collections, concerts, and exhibits. Today, a very high percentage of procedures can be done online.
One of the most important sections is for children, with a digital offer of information -and even games- that allows them to get closer to the world of books, painting, sculpture, and music.
Economic Research
The Economic Research Portal is a digital ecosystem to bring together and integrate the experts that Colombia has in macroeconomic matters.
In addition to the extensive catalog of documents, publications, event calendars and specialized news, the experts have a private portal where, in addition to scientific exchanges, there are multiple support services in the research process.
Why Drupal was chosen
Dayscript as a company is a believer in Drupal's capabilities as a CMS to manage websites in a flexible, robust, secure and scalable way, after more than 20 years in the digital product market and having experimented with both proprietary and open source content managers.
