Zaharo, a cherished Bulgarian confectionery company with a 30-year history, embarked on a journey to expand its online presence and better serve its growing customer base. To achieve this sweet transformation, Zaharo turned to Drupal, a choice that would prove instrumental in realising their goals.
About the project
Zaharo, a Bulgarian confectionery company with a rich history, sought to enhance its online presence and accommodate a growing customer base. They partnered with Bulcode to achieve this goal, utilising Drupal and e-commerce modules. The project aimed to create an appealing design, manage a wide range of product combinations, implement complex price calculations, and establish user roles and permissions.
Key Achievements:
- Custom product bundles: Administrators could define product options, relationships, and pricing rules, enabling a vast array of customisable product combinations.
- Custom product purchase form: A highly flexible purchase form considered all product configurations, allowing customers to customise cakes with portions, cream, stuffing, additions, glaze, shape, labelling, certificates, and images.
- Pricing logic: The system handled over 160,000 product variations, utilising general price calculation rules based on customer selections, including shape and preparation time.
- ERP integration: Seamless integration with Zaharo's internal ERP system ensured efficient management of products, ingredients, and orders.
- Physical store integration: Customers could pay for orders in physical stores, where Android devices running a Zaharo application facilitated orders without waiting in line. Each order could be paid for using an order number.
- Cashier role: Cashiers had dedicated logins, granting access to store-specific orders and order tracking, streamlining in-store operations.
Outcome: The project successfully transformed Zaharo's online presence, offering customers a visually appealing and highly customisable ordering experience. Complex price calculations and ERP integration enhanced operational efficiency. The integration of physical stores and the cashier role further streamlined the customer journey and in-store processes, contributing to Zaharo's continued success in the confectionery industry.
