Trois-soleils chose Smile to redesign its old site on Drupal 6 to Drupal commerce 2.x (Drupal 9).
Trois-soleils, is part of the Hertz Group, its activity is the rental of motor homes, vans and converted vans in France.
About the project
The client's objectives were:
- customize the search
- to be able to allow payment directly on the site (by Payzen)
- to also be able to manage deposits via Drupal Commerce
The vehicle rental activity involves specific data calculations in relation to rental time, km, model, etc. Therefore, during the project, Smile had to meet the following specifications:
A personalized search engine allowing:
- Retrieval of availabilities via an API.
- Rates Calculated on the fly
A calculation of complex prices:
- Depending on the season
- Number of days
- The type of vehicle
- The mileage package
The implementation of a payment module:
- Payment system
- Off-site payment gateway
- The notification
Custom checkout pane to add vehicle options (e.g.: add Child seat, choosing Coverages…)
- The return of payment on the Drupal commerce side
- Down payment management
Why Drupal was chosen
Choosing Drupal for the redesign of their site made sense, as it was already on Drupal 6. Moreover, it was a technology that he was happy with and that perfectly suited their future needs.
