About the project
Goal
The primary goal of the Kattan Group project was to merge three distinct websites—Abdel Ahad Kattan & Sons Co., Kattan Advanced Service Solutions, and Kattan Advanced Machinery—into a unified, multi-site platform. This Drupal-based solution enables Kattan Group to centralize content management and administration across all entities from a single backend. The unified platform ensures seamless content distribution, consistent branding, and streamlined workflows, while allowing each website to retain its unique identity and functionalities, including a comprehensive product catalog.
Outcomes
The Kattan Group project involved building a robust multi-site architecture using Drupal. The solution allows Kattan Group to manage these sites from a single backend, ensuring unified content management while maintaining distinct designs and functions for each brand.
- Multi-Site Architecture:
- Single Drupal Installation: Utilizing Drupal’s multi-site capabilities, a single Drupal installation was used to manage content for all three websites. Each site shares core functionality but has unique branding, content, product listing, and navigation structure specific to its entity.
- Centralized Content Management: Administrators can create, update, and distribute content across all three sites from a unified dashboard. This eliminates duplication and streamlines the content workflow, ensuring consistency in messaging across the different entities.
- Custom Product Catalog:
- Comprehensive Product Listings: A custom-built product catalog was implemented, allowing Kattan Group to manage its extensive range of timber products, service solutions, and woodworking machinery. Products are categorized and can be updated or modified from the centralized dashboard, ensuring that the catalog is consistently accurate across the sites.
- Filtering and Search Functionality: Advanced filtering and search features were included to help users quickly find products based on specifications, enhancing user experience and navigation.
- Branded Product Catalog: The catalog was developed featuring wood brands like Accoya and machinery brands such as Homag and Leuco. products are sorted by brand and category, providing a clear and intuitive listing. This ensures users can easily browse and find specific products associated with each brand.
