Based on Drupal, concedra launched the huge platform think ING. - Germany´s leading initiative providing extensive information on the wide topic of engineering - for our client Gesamtmetall (the federation of German employers’ associations in the metal and electrical engineering industries). The activities of think ING. are mainly directed at young people of all ages who are interested in becoming an engineer.

The growing community of students, teachers and people of various companies, universities, foundations and other institutions find a wide range of networking opportunities on www.think-ing.de. Institutions have the chance to introduce themselves via so-called partner profiles, which they can edit on their own and complement with offers for different target groups.

Why Drupal was chosen

The platform is a so-called “work in progress“, evolving from the ideas of the community into a huge, constantly developing network. Therefore, setting permissions for different kind of users and a huge system of user connections were essential. Out of 35.000 modules provided by the Drupal community we took 200 that we particularly adjusted and customised to the needs of our think ING. community. The result is, on the one hand, a unique website, directed at different kind of users and target groups. On the other, we have now gained substantial experiences and insight into Drupal that we could use and adapt to many other projects of different sizes.
