The Directorate General for Higher Education (Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior/DGES) is a public organism under direct state administration and is subjected to the direction of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Educação Superior) whose mission is to ensure the creation, execution and coordination of policies that belong to that ministry.
The DGES lacked a new webiste that mirrored in the best way the innovation and the dynamism that characterize it. With the technological evolution, the DGES has adapted its services, starting to provide them by electronic means, thus managing to streamline processes facilitating the citizens who communicate daily with the DGES.
About the project
The developed website will be the main means to provide services and information to Higher Education Institutions, students, candidates, teachers and other national and foreign citizens, as such should allow several aspects to function in a harmonious, innovative and technologically advanced way.

Reflecting this commitment, the new DGES web page competes with web content (WCAG), version 2.0, of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
DGES was pleased with Javali's commitment to renewing its website. It was a project that presented some interesting and difficult challenges that were overcome.

Why Drupal was chosen
In order to comply with the various requirements of the DGES, the design was designed to be focused on the various DGES target audiences, so that access to the information addressed to them is done in a simple, fast and intuitive way.
Based on customer request JAVALI presented a value proposal framed by the needs expressed by the client, the Drupal content manager, a completely free Content Management System (CMS) without licensing costs, which allows:
- The interconnection to AMA payment systems;
- The creation of areas reserved for information sharing;
- Integration of internal authentication systems with DGES;
- Creation of online forms, based on training data and others relevant to a DGES;

- A responsive design, a strategy for optimizing the display of a web and mobile devices: desktop, tablet and smartphone, which facilitates the connection of and the special needs of some citizens;
- Grant total autonomy to the coordination of the DGES portal for editing.
