Sector(s)
Punktured is a body-piercing studio based in the heart of Brighton. Their site hosts information about the company’s services, as well as other industry-related content and an e-commerce store selling body jewellery. This project involved transporting the site from miggle’s old self-built open source CMS into Drupal, enabling us to provide a better future-proofed system.

About the project
The goal was simply to recreate the existing site in order to deliver the benefits specified above. The design and features, therefore, remained very much the same. However the result is a site that is much simpler to maintain, with the team able to deploy fixes and enhancements quickly and easily.
Why Drupal was chosen
The decision to move away from the miggleCMS was mainly down to fewer developers knowing how to use it - the miggle business itself had expanded as a specialist Drupal agency.
Because Drupal offers an open source resource with a vast community of users it is better maintained, ensuring code is up to date and safe.
As one of Punktured’s main features is an online shop, Drupal’s maturity within e-commerce in comparison to other systems also made it ideal.
From a back-end perspective, Drupal has provided administrators at Punktured with a more user-friendly experience; they are able to log in to view orders, of which they are also notified via email.

Key modules/theme/distribution used:
The many modules taken from the Commerce Suite – such as Check Out and Add to Cart – each provide an individual function that contributes to a smooth overall functionality. Together we felt they offered a more refined alternative to Ubercart.
