Produce Market Guide is a resource for produce commodity information, fresh trends, and data analysis. It is a product of The Packer, the fresh fruit and vegetable industry's leading source for news, information and analysis.

Valuebound helped Produce Market Guide (PMG) - a brand of Farm Journal Media, build a Content Management System (CMS) with smart navigation, searches and completely customizable indexing to serve its end users up to date produce trends and data insights for their businesses. Valuebound seamlessly migrated records from the legacy databases and files, enabled content moderation and efficient user management. We also helped PMG to implement tools for financial snapshots and endorsements.

About the project

The goal of the project was to build a new CMS that included a highly categorized taxonomy structure for searches, which needed to include a comprehensive listing of all produce items with multilevel categorization. The new site also includes company listing and an efficient navigation system to acquire meaningful and insightful data along with financial snapshots module and endorsement window similar to LinkedIn.

Why Drupal was chosen

PMG required a robust and scalable CMS to manage a chunk of content and provide seamless navigation, search, indexing facility, and financial snapshots. The core of the project architecture was the implementation of Drupal 8 as a content manager. The reason why Drupal was chosen as a CMS of choice for the stakeholders, editors and customers because of its content authoring experience, scalability, security, easy migration, efficient user management and others.
