OHM Advisors is a community-oriented architecture and engineering firm with offices across the US Midwest. Chapter Three was engaged to do a full redesign and migration to Drupal 8 from Wordpress. In addition to a move to a new technical platform, key business needs included a much bolder visual and design system, and a revamped approach to content, which we helped make a bold visual and storytelling statement from one of the Midwest’s leading architecture and engineering firms.

About the project

The Problem

OHM’s previous website suffered from lack of clear hierarchy, awkward user experience, underuse of visual assets, and content that didn’t do justice to the firm’s full-service offerings. It was difficult for users to clearly identify the firm’s expertise, or even find office locations, due to a hard-to-use vertical navigation.

The Chapter Three Solution

We established strong visual hierarchies, simplified the navigation, took advantage of project assets, and modernized the look and feel of the content and photography. We provided clearer pathways into career and news content, and brought the firm’s expertise front and center via a revamped portfolio section and unified taxonomy. Chapter Three provided strategy, design and development services, building the site from the ground-up in Drupal 8, and migrating blogs and media from Wordpress.

Why Drupal was chosen

Drupal 8 was chosen because of it's native ability to handle component-based design and content relationships. For OHM Advisors, it meant being able to easily connect staff bios to projects, news and other content.
