Community contributions
We have an active attitude towards the community and use the community's code, so we stand on the shoulders of giants. But more than that, we actively help to build Drupal and its community. In terms of code for example, the proof is in the following contrib modules developed by Synetic:
β’ Big Pipe Paragraphs: https://www.drupal.org/project/big_pipe_paragraphs
(to optimize the speed of the website)
β’ Cookie Content Blocker: https://www.drupal.org/project/cookie_content_blocker
(to disable certain content such as videos if no permission has been given to place cookies)
Synetic contributed to the following issues for contrib modules:
β’ Layout paragraphs: https://www.drupal.org/node/3195152
β’ Drupal core: https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/1988968
β’ Facets: https://www.drupal.org/project/facets/issues/3211155

FrieslandCampina is one of the largest dairy companies in the world and supplies a wide range of products. With regard to the future, the company wanted to take a big step digitally. A step away from the closed and expensive platform and instead building a future with an open platform with automated deployments, performance scans and security scans on code and websites.
This new state of the art Drupal platform that Synetic developed is the foundation for dozens of websites of brands such as Friesche Vlag, Mona, Monchou, Milner, Optimel and Campina. With this we have led FrieslandCampina in a new technical direction.
About the project
FrieslandCampina wants to be able to respond faster to changes in the future with a sustainable, flexible, secure and scalable CMS. FrieslandCampina's team has set the goal of being able to manage 80% of all sites on their own.
To be able to develop at high speed and to avoid vendor lock-in FrieslandCampina deliberately opted for open source technology. And, on Synetic's advice, they chose Drupal.
Powered by our Drupal Kickstart (a proprietary Drupal distribution with ready-made building blocks), the collaboration with FrieslandCampina immediately kicked into high gear and each website was up and running in no time. The scalability, robustness and security of Drupal are guaranteed and the CMS is user-friendly.
With this new Drupal 9 platform, we've taken the technical development to the next level and set out a sustainable strategy. One in which FrieslandCampina's marketing departments have been given much more flexibility, so that they can respond to changes quickly and build richer pages. As a result, the the client was completely happy with the project.
Why Drupal was chosen
We have seamlessly merged the new platform with two systems that FrieslandCampina already uses: Syndy (the Product Information management system) and Aprimo (the Digital Asset Management environment used).
Thanks to our clever Drupal Kickstart - which cuts development time when developing new sites by reusing all the configuration - we roll out each website in no time.
We do this on a platform that has fully automated Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. Code is scanned for potential vulnerabilities and the website itself is scanned for places where input can be abused. There are also automated web performance scans before and after each release to see if the web core vitals are met. By doing this with the client, we make sure that the sites work optimally from a technical and content point of view for the user and score well in the search engines.
