It's more than a website—it's a training ground for leadership, collaboration, and Kingdom-based innovation. The site equips users with tools to build not only solutions, but people: engineers with purpose, and ministers with strategic insight.
About the project
Mission.Place was created to:
-
Unify ministry and engineering teams into mission-ready partnerships
-
Train leaders through technology, collaboration, and biblical principles
-
Provide tools for sermon sharing, live translation, resource downloads, and eventually offline mission use
-
Build everything in-house using open-source, scalable technology
-
Equip engineers and ministry workers to co-labor, not operate in silos
Outcomes:
-
A fully functional platform built on Drupal 10, later upgraded to Drupal 11
-
Custom layout with animated branding, scroll-triggered content, and structured downloads
-
Custom modules and scripts prepared for media encryption, live transcription, and Nextcloud integration
-
Laid the foundation for broader collaboration across continents, languages, and sectors
-
A visible, working model of what’s possible when engineers and missionaries build together
Why Drupal was chosen
We needed a system with no ceilings—one that could grow with us, adapt to future ideas, and serve as a technical foundation we could confidently recommend to others. Drupal was the only platform that offered:
-
Unlimited flexibility for growth and tool integration
-
Granular content control to support both structured teaching and dynamic media
-
Multilingual capability to serve international outreach
-
Open-source freedom so we could build without license constraints
-
A way to train future leaders in open-source best practices while building a tool that serves real ministry needs
