UNESCO has recently re-launched the Silk Road online platform, to compile and disseminate this valuable knowledge for the benefit of academic, cultural and artistic professionals as well as the general public. Moreover, the online platform continues the Silk Road’s tradition and facilitates dialogue, encounters and exchanges among authorities, scholars, artists, educators, tourism professionals, students and youth.

About the project

The main goal of the project was to refresh the look and feel of the website. Silk Roads Programme' website was redesigned with the new UNESCO's style guide in mind. Apart from design, this was an opportunity to upgrade from Drupal 7 to what was the latest version of Drupal at that time.

Why Drupal was chosen

UNESCO has selected Drupal as its content management system of choice. The existing site was already built with Drupal 7.
