Why Drupal was chosen

There were multiple core challenges that Drupal 10 was uniquely suited to address:

Performance & Scalability Constraints
The AMA’s National Health Equity Grand Rounds (NHEGR) website faced load time delays and scalability issues on WordPress. Drupal 10’s enterprise-grade performance capabilities and caching architecture offered a robust solution to handle increasing traffic and expanding content needs.

Complex Content Management Requirements
Managing diverse content types, educational resources, live events, and recordings, was cumbersome on WordPress. Drupal’s flexible content architecture and taxonomy system streamlined management, making updates and organization faster and more efficient.

Security & Compliance
Reliance on third-party plugins in WordPress introduced vulnerabilities. Drupal’s rigorous security standards, built-in access controls, and reduced dependency on external plugins ensured greater protection for sensitive health-related data.

Customization & Integration Flexibility
NHEGR required integration with Cadmore Media to embed live event media and improve accessibility. Drupal’s modular structure and integration capabilities enabled a seamless connection, enhancing the viewing experience for users.

Optimized SEO & Accessibility
Drupal 10’s SEO-friendly structure and accessibility features were instrumental in improving discoverability and usability. The platform achieved 98% performance, 97% accessibility, and 77% SEO scores post-migration, significantly enhancing visibility and engagement.
