Organizations Involved

Ginesys, led by Ginni Systems Ltd. India, is one of the leading POS companies, covering the entire retail value chain from manufacturing to distribution and retail in the country.

Specbee was entrusted with the task of architecting their website, intended to showcase their products and solutions and introduce the company to a large audience. Their previous website was difficult to handle, costly, and challenging for staff to use (who uploaded content on a regular basis) with its complexity and inflexibility. The remodeled website on Drupal 8 offered an efficient content management process and improved performance.

About the project

On studying the requirements from Ginesys, our expert team set about addressing the issues to provide their online brand a complete makeover. The website required better engagement, and the architecture failed to enable scalability at any level.

Key Objectives

  • Redesign, re-architect and develop their portfolio website for Ginesys product and solutions.
  • Offer better user experience across all devices, and improve page load times on mobile devices.
  • A superior content management experience by empowering their editors to architect and publish content quickly and easily.
  • Deliver a seamless online experience for customers and site administrators alike.

Key Features

  • Drupal's Workbench moderation to create dashboard for editors to manage and moderate large volumes of content.
  • Enable a content workflow for editors and site administrators.
  • Content tagging system to classify new and existing content.

Technical Expertise

  • Custom module in Drupal 8 for integration with Google Analytics for event tracking.
  • Drupal core migrate tools to migrate a large number of HTML blogs to Drupal.
  • Custom dashboard for total user data, and content created by editors on the website.

Project Outcome

The project was delivered well within the defined time and budgets, with the best implementations of Drupal 8. Employees in Ginesys offices around the country report faster load times compared to the old site, and the site administrators enjoy a system that is easier to manage. The new website is seeing a massive increase in user engagement, with better conversions.

Why Drupal was chosen

With a primary goal to showcase the product and solutions offered by Ginesys, the remodeled website includes features such as: robust tagging, useful WYSIWYG and content block—for which they needed an Enterprise-level CMS to streamline content creation—content management, and site administration. Functionally, the team from Ginesys needed to easily manage all content, while providing a rich user experience to their users.

They wanted a system where they could easily manage their content and allow its classification into different taxonomies with a dashboard for editors for content moderation. In addition they wanted to manage user subscriptions and form submissions on their career pages and demo inquiries. Their previous website was built on HTML and it lacked an effective mobile-optimized user experience, and prohibited the editors from easily managing their own website.

With the requirements set, Drupal 8’s easy-to-use features and its ability to offer scalability and the flexibility to grow and adapt to keep pace with company’s markets, was the obvious choice. Also, leveraging Drupal 8’s content authoring capabilities and reliable content management & moderation features, we undertook the development of their website.
