Sharemac is an innovative startup on the mission to digitize the construction industry. Sharemac Platform is a unique, professional online platform, where construction companies and private users can exchange equipment through lending and renting.
The platform’s main strength is its transparency and efficiency when lending or renting the equipment. It’s the only platform on the market that shows the exact machine lender will receive, with the final price and the exact location – all before the rental booking is made.
The constant support from the German Construction Associations allowed Sharemac to introduce and integrate its platform to a number of industry leaders across Europe.

We worked with Omedia during our early stages to develop an MVP for Sharemac. Drupal played a pivotal role in building our platform’s backend, providing the flexibility needed for rapid changes and complex requirements. Why Drupal was chosen
Sharemac was an early-stage startup when it approached Omedia. Our challenge was to create an MVP for a complex P2P lending and renting platform, consult the client, and come up with the right technical solutions for the ever-changing requirements, all within the tight deadlines.
We came up with the system of microservices, handling the entire process of the platform — from user registration and verification to equipment database management, renting, payments, and delivery tracking. The solution consists of multiple applications working in sync. The platform core runs on a heavily customized headless Drupal instance, providing back-end for a custom Angular front-end application.
