Organizations Involved

Breda University of Applied Sciences (hereafter referred to as BUAS) trains young people, in an international context, to become professionals in the fields of tourism, hotel and facility management, digital entertainment, urban planning, logistics & mobility, and leisure. BUAS aims to be an inspiring knowledge and expertise center in these fields. Currently, there are approximately 7,500 students studying at BUAS on one campus (consisting of the Horizon, Frontier and Ocean buildings) that meets the latest insights in housing. Nearly 750 employees work at BUAS.

A website is never finished. The (educational) world changes, BUAS changes, and the online marketing context changes. New insights and (technological) developments force us to continuously respond to trends and opportunities in order to stay current, relevant, and searchable in a constantly changing environment.

The development of BUAS.nl is an evolutionary process where the website is continuously optimized for a better user experience and a higher conversion rate. So just like BUAS, the webiste is always under construction!

About the project

Within the BUAS Online Engagement Platform, we connect with and between our target audiences. The BUAS.nl website serves as the primary source of information where all relevant and up-to-date information about our courses and services comes together. The online engagement platform also functions as a community. Target audiences talk to and about us and make contact with each other. BUAS facilitates and provides a meaningful contribution. We answer questions, resolve problems, and participate in online dialogues. The online platform contributes to brand activation and supports the generation of customer insights.

Project objectives

The goal of our online activities is to translate into terms of visibility, reach, dialogue, and conversions for our target audiences:

  • Improving the BUAS reputation, also internationally
  • Increasing (online) BUAS brand awareness
  • Supporting an optimal sales funnel for student recruitment, nationally and internationally, and thereby contributing to our (recruitment) goals: more (micro) conversions, both online and offline

We do this by engaging in a relevant and impactful dialogue/connection (engagement) with target audiences and by generating more online traffic

BUAS aimed to find a party who will enter into a partnership with BUAS for the hosting, management, maintenance, and further development of the BUAS corporate website in Drupal, and found this partner in Finalist.

Why Drupal was chosen

The website was already running on Drupal and uses (standard) Drupal modules. There is also custom-made functionality in PHP. The underlying IT architecture has Drupal as its foundation. This is where the content is stored, the logic of the functionality is located, and presentation is provided.

This architecture remained unchanged in this project.
