Maximus Air, an Abu Dhabi Aviation Group company, is the largest all-cargo airline in the UAE and amongst the biggest operating in the wider Middle East region. They specialize in end-to-end cargo solutions, especially moving outsized air cargo, across the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Maximus Air wanted to reconstruct their digital presence and improve their brand image, enable a better user experience, with easy content management and moderation. Delegated with the task of architecting the redesign and development of their website, Specbee helped them remodel their digital presence on Drupal 8, with improved performance and an efficient content authorisation system.
About the project
With a primary goal of building a flexible portfolio website capable of handling large volume of media content, Specbee embarked on the website redesign and development with clear requirements in mind. Leveraging the features provided by the Drupal CMS, and the team's expertise in handling the content management system, Specbee crafted a compelling web experience, powered by the latest version of Drupal at the time.

Why Drupal was chosen
Maximums Air's existing system was on a legacy system with ageing features, high risks of breaking functionalities and lengthy deployments. The company was looking for an alternative approach to build some of the best features and counter their major disadvantage of content authorization which was giving them a hard time with respect to updates and less expensive maintenance. Maximus Air wanted a solution to manage their main portfolio website, to match modern industry standards with great features, speed and better user experience. Also, they wanted the system to provide easy content authoring experience to help their non-technical managers.
In addition, to manage their content better on the website, they required granular permissions for their teams, where they could allow different levels of permission from the site administrators.
Drupal was the ideal solution for the project because of its flexibility, robustness and the ability to offer superior content authoring features. With abundance of contributed modules on Drupal 8, project requirements could be met easily with the accessible features of Drupal CMS.

Paragraphs: This module formed the foundation for the landing pages of the website. Paragraphs was used to build the components for the landing pages.
Field Permissions: This module provided the granular permissions for better content authorisation. The module allowed content administrators to set field level permissions to view or edit the content fields.
Webforms: Powered the various forms and surveys on the website.
GDPR: Aims at providing help to understand the Drupal relations with GDPR compliance and aids by providing helper tools in making the website GDPR compliant.
Photo Swipe: This module drives the media gallery of the website.
Migrate Source CSV: This module was used for the complete migration of large volumes of content and media files to Drupal.
